The longstanding rivalry between Apple and Google in the smartphone market spawned an equally if not more ferocious friction between iPhone evangelists and Android advocates. The debate has often surfaced here within the Klout office so we decided to put Phandroids and iPhone fanboys head-to-head in an influence throwdown.

Comparing the average Klout score of iPhone influencers to that of Android influencers yielded the following results:

Both iPhone and Android influencers are on average more influential than the average Klout user (who has a Score around 20). But in this battle, the final score is 42.0-40.6, iPhone influencers for the win! Of course, influence is constantly changing and the Klout score along with it so it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the future.

UPDATE: We got a request to include BlackBerry and… (drum roll, please) the average Score of a BlackBerry influencer is 43.6, beating out both iPhone and Android influencers. Talk about an upset!
