Our ongoing mission at Klout is to help everyone realize their influence. We believe that by sharing your passions and expertise with the world, each one of us can not only make an impact but also help others. To move this mission forward, earlier this year we launched Klout Experts, which enabled influencers to directly respond to questions about their areas of expertise and share their answers with millions of other people through our partnership with Bing.

Even as a limited preview release, the response to Klout Experts blew us away, in both the quality of the answers people provided and the high rate of participation by Klout influencers. We knew we had tapped into the next extension of influence: people directly helping other people by sharing their wisdom and knowledge and influencing them to make better decisions.

Today we’re excited to announce Cinch, a new mobile app for iOS that builds on everything we’ve learned about influence and expertise to deliver a great new way to get personalized advice. Cinch uses Klout’s technology platform and data assets to understand the questions you ask and then match them to the most relevant potential advisors.

Cinch helps everyone get timely advice about a range of lifestyle-related questions, such as home improvement, parenting, and more, from knowledgeable advisors. Cinch advisors have a new way to share their expertise and grow their influence, just by offering their advice.

We hope you’ll enjoy using Cinch, which we think is a great complement to Klout. Get it today at the App Store and let us know what you think.

Android left off the list again. Still waiting for the official Klout app for Android.

Hi Flavio, thanks for your support! We started with iOS because we found that a majority of Klout users use iPhones. We hope to make an Android app available soon. Thanks for your patience.

Hi Seth, we’re want to make asking and answering questions on Cinch easier for everyone, so we do hope to have an Android app available in the future.

  • http://corp.klout.com Klout

Hi Andy, as mentioned above, we launched Cinch on iOS because the majority of users on Klout use iPhones. That said, we are hoping to have Cinch available on Android soon.

  • http://corp.klout.com Klout

Hi Philipe, you are right, the Cinch app is only available to US users right now. But if you are a Klout user, you are still eligible to be targeted to answer a question asked on Cinch. If you are selected as an expert to answer a Cinch question, you will receive an email notification. We hope to expand and make Cinch available outside the US soon. Stay tuned, and thanks for your support!

Hi @subway123:disqus, unfortunately, we don’t have any current plans for a Windows app. Thanks for your support!

  • Kevin

So you do realize that ppl who have the most influence are generally not using iOS devices right? iPhone users tend to be followers and not leaders. Please develop an Android app since these devices are now over 80 percent of the world market and iOS is 8% and falling.

  • http://corp.klout.com Klout

Hi @disqus_XruHvDFLRR:disqus, as mentioned above, we launched with iOS because a significant majority of Klout users own iPhone devices. We hope to make an Android app available soon. Thanks for your patience and support!

Maybe the majority of Klout users are on iPhone because Klout never focused on Android. I tend to run in Android circles and most all of those folks use Klout.

Will we get a web version? This is a really nice concept so it would be nice to have it available on web just like how klout.com works for web.

Love the idea but agree we definitely need an International version. Cinch looks much more visually appealing for the question structure. Looking forward to finding out more when it gets to the UK :)

  • Miranda Sherman

I really enjoyed answering the questions but I am a LOYAL android user and refuse to get an iPhone. I wish there was a Klout approved android app and I am dying to get Cinch. How long until you develop an Android app?

  • Carolann Leibenguth

Give me a shout when you get it for android :)

  • Nick

Pretty stoked about this idea – I think it has a lot of potential. How do you guys determine who is an expert? And how could a company, for example, become an expert referenced on cinch?

Without an Android app, I’m not sure how you would know that.

  • Dale Brose

Hey Klout, I’m Android as well. Give me a jingle when you catch up with the rest of us. HUGZ

A web version would be very helpful! Although I’d love to answer “Is TV still effective for a consumer product launch? If so, how?” and link articles with supporting facts…I’m not about to do that on my iPhone. Now this guy is getting the short answer, yes, instead of some more useful info.

  • Jeff Hall

So you say you created iPhone app first (and still only have iOS app) because you found most of your users have iPhones. I would really love to find out HOW you know that. Especially since I am an Android user and you keep sending me emails to join Cinch, so obviously you do not know what your users have for phones.

  • Sander Lindenburg

When will it be available in the Netherlands?

  • Ryphna St-John

Not only it’s IOS only but it require IOS 7!! Seriously… I have tolerated the tendency of company to favorite Android or IOS using whatever statistic they want by using my ANDROID PHONE and IOS IPOD TOUCH (4).

If you INSIST into developping for IOS, PLEASE at least consider releasing a IOS 6 compatible version.

  • Vincent Schilling

    ANDROID!

  • Christian Mañko

Adding to what many others have asked for. Not going to jump into the Android IOS fight, but really a web version would come in handy for other platforms as well. Hope to see that in future versions.

  • david_livingstone

Why? What possible reason is there for restricting an app to a single geographical region? Surely not language. It looks like Marshall McLuhan’s Global Village is still a long way off.

  • david_livingstone

That’s an interesting generalisation, Kevin and not one supported by my observation. There’s no question that iOS and OS X are now and have always been for a niche market, and it’s great that Google are providing a raft of hardware vendors with a robust product for the mass market but your comment on the character of the niche users is analogous to claiming people who drive a Chevrolet are smarter than those who drive a Rolls-Royce because there are more of them.

  • http://afo.li/ Alessandro Folghera

It’s really sad that your app is not available in Italy !!!!

  • Judith Siegmann

Please make it available to the German market, can’t download it here from itunes store.

  • Neil

So if Cinch isn’t available for Android, I guess Blackberry is totally out, huh?
